The peacock dress I wore to ICC 2004. I found a picture in the Changeling tabletop corebook - an illustration by Tony Diterlizzi, and it inspired me to make this monstrosity. I used a J.P. Ryan 18th century shortgown pattern for the jacket, and then built the collar on top of it myself. The skirt is just a finely pleated satin, and the tail is made of thirty-something peacock feathers hot glued down to a fan shaped tail attached to a belt that clips on top.
I wanted to be able to sit down in it, and the tail moves around rather well. Unfortunately, it's hard to see.
Someday, I may have an excuse to wear this again, but I can't imagine what.
There are so many changes I want to make to it. This was the first costuming project that I really tried to tackle on my own. I've learned a few tricks since then.
thanks. When the semester is over, I'm going to have someone take a few back shots of it. There's a full peacock tail off it that you can't even see in that picture.
I may end up doing some serious alterations if I ever get to wear it again. The first thing to go will be the ugly Jo-Ann's bought bias tape on the hem of the jacket. I was new... I didn't know any better
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
A collection of the most beautiful and amazing square photographs I found among my favourites. Please have a look and give these artists the attention they deserve!

I wish I were a glow worm.
A glow worm is never glum,
Because how can you be unhappy,
When the sun shines out your bum?!
